Industrial Policy
The most outstanding features of
the new industrial policy are, revision of the industrial location policy for
Mumbai Metropolitan Region permitting non-polluting high-tech industries within
the rationalized municipal zones of greater Mumbai, non requirement of the collectors'
permission for purchase of land and its conversion for industrial use in certain
areas etc. According to the policy, private participation is being sought in
power projects, setting up of new industrial estate and infrastructure
facilities. The state has been classified into groups A.B.C.D. & D + based
on the extent of industrial development.
Incentives
Special
capital incentives of 15% of fixed capital investment, up to Rs. 0.7 million
for SSIs in Area B

capital incentives of 20% of fixed capital investment, up to Rs.1 million,
for SSIs in Area C

Special
capital incentives of 25% of fixed capital investment, up to Rs. 1.5 million,
for SSIs in Area D
