Industrial Policy
The new Industrial Policy is dynamic in nature. It provides a package of
facilities and incentives to entrepreneurs and industrial units. The prime
object of this policy is to ensure creation of maximum employment opportunities
and eradication of poverty. Top priority has been accorded to infrastructural
facilities.
The districts of the State have
been classified into four categories.
Category - A :Banda, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Fatehpur, Jaunpur, Sultanpur,
Kanpur,Almora, Chamoli, Pauri, Garhwal, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarkashi,Pitthoragarh,
Dehradun and Nainital.
Category - B:The trans-yamuna area of Allahabad (except Naini),
Basti,Siddharthnagar, Faizabad, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Raebareli, Ballia,and Taj
Trapezum area.
Category - C: Azamgarh, Mau, Behraich, Deoria, Barabanki, Etah (remaining
area)Etawa, Farrukhabad, Ghazipur, Gonda, Hardoi, Mainpuri(remaining area),
Mathura (remaining area), Moradabad, Piliphit,Pratapgarh, Rampur, Shahjahanpur,
Badaun, Sitapur, Unnao and Bulandshahar.
Category - D:Kanpur city, Agra (remaining area), Ferozabad (remaining
area),Allahabad (remaining area), Lucknow, Bareilly, Meerut,
Ghaziabad,Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Hardwar, Bijnor, Lakhimpur, Kheri,Aligarh
(remaining area), Varanasi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra,Gorakhpur and Maharajaganj.
Incentives
Land is available at subsidized rates in notified industrial Areas/estates in industrially backward districts.

All new units would be exempted from minimum demand charge for 5 years from the date of commencement of their production.

For
rehabilitation of sick units, minimum demand charges for the period of
their closure will not be charged provided this is part of the approved
package.

Exemption/deferment
linked to fixed capital investment. Facility available up to 150% of fixed
capital investment or 8 years in category 'C', 200% or 10 years in category
'B' and 250% or 12 years in category 'A', whichever is earlier.

Deferment of luxury tax in thrust areas for 5 years
|
Octroi rebate on plant and machinery and building material for new units for 5 years
|
Exemption from minimum power demand charges for new units for 5 years
|
Exemption from power demand charges for sick units during the closure period
|
Special
incentives, including electricity, equity participation, and other assistance,
for NRI entrepreneurs
|
Subsidy of 75%, up to Rs. 0.2 million, of costs of feasibility report
|
